| dc.description | This research focuses on the local wisdoms of the arts Ilang machete arts in the culture of the Iban community in Sarawak. This research is based on the glory of Ilang machete arts which is based on the customs and culture of the Iban community, past until present. It is based on the civilization of the Iban community, arts and culture which become a landmark of majesty and glory in manifesting their civilization in Sarawak. The Ilang machete arts is a symbolism and image of the cultural identity of the Iban community in the form of intellectuals and aspirations through the wisdom of traditions that have been passed down through generations to create the manifestation of their culture, arts and traditional belief practices. The Ilang machete arts that is kept and owned by the Iban community has such a significant value that it is classified as heritage and inheritance. However, various factors have changed the cultural and artistic patterns of the Iban community during the era of colonialization. Furthermore, modern development as well as the current of globalization that has hit the life of the Iban community shows the inability to maintain the local wisdoms of Ilang machete arts that was created and acquired traditionally. Therefore, this research aims to sustainability and legitimize the local wisdoms of the Ilang machete arts in the culture of the Iban community in Sarawak. This research takes the form of ethnography that focuses on the local wisdoms that found in the Ilang machete arts in the culture of the Iban community. This research applies a qualitative approach that uses a data collection process from fieldwork studies, regular observation, participatory observation, documentation, document analysis and informant interviews. The results of this research will be able to create a model of local wisdoms on the Ilang machete arts in the culture of the Iban vii community. The purpose is to create the values of knowledge, arts, aesthetics and culture that are shown in the creation of Ilang machete arts in the Iban community. Overall, this research also be able to sustainability the local wisdoms of the Ilang machete arts so that it continues to be used as an artistic and cultural legacy in the future generations of the Iban community. | |
