Abstract

Description

This project presents a Doodle Recognition system designed to enhance English vocabulary retention issues among young children aged 3 to 6. The project aims to study the strategies to address vocabulary retention as well as implementing a doodle drawing recognition web app to create an interactive and engaging educational tool. The Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology proposes a user-centric design with iterative feedback to refine functionality throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Key features include a responsive drawing canvas, AI-driven doodle recognition, pre- and post-tests for assessment, and real-time feedback to improve learning outcomes. The proposed solution focuses on developing fine motor skills alongside cognitive abilities, aligning with play-based learning principles. The study reviews existing applications, identifies gaps in their design, and demonstrates the potential of combining doodling with vocabulary learning to create a holistic educational experience. By aligning with the Malaysian preschool curriculum, this innovative approach contributes to early childhood education, fostering vocabulary acquisition through hands-on, creative activities.
