Abstract

Description

This project presents the development process of the FitTrack system-a comprehensive fitness tracking application that is designed to help users track their physical progress: workouts, food intake, and body metrics. More people have finally come to understand that physical exercises will keep them healthy, which also means increased demand for tools to support healthier living. The growing popularity of smartphones has given them an appropriate platform to interact with various programs that keep concern for fitness and health. While the market for fitness applications is growing fast, it misses an all-in-one application offering various aspects of health and fitness under one roof. Most of these applications end up being one-feature-only applications, like tracking workouts or counting calories, for which users must use different applications altogether. This can be a bit of a hassle and may lead to inconsistent use. The FitTrack project will provide an integrated solution that will put together workout tracking, calorie management, progress visualization, and personalized reminders in one easyto- use platform. This application is intended to support users in tracking their fitness data, visualizing their progress, and staying motivated toward their health goals. The project follows the Waterfall methodology, starting with the requirement analysis, going through the system design phase by making use of various diagrams to model the processes and user interactions of the application. FitTrack is designed to be simple yet powerful for consistently keeping users using it to support a healthier lifestyle by means of smart tracking and personalized guidance. The testing results showed that FitTrack was easy to use, most users had no problems, and the interface was intuitive.
