Abstract
Description
A collaborative task management mobile application system is presented in this final year project to help university students effectively manage their academic projects, group assignments, and individual duties. The system, which is designed for academic purposes and improves productivity, organisation, and cooperation, was inspired by industry-standard applications such as Jira and Trello. It was created with Agile approach and includes features like task creation, tracking, categorisation, interactive dashboards, calendar integration, real-time collaboration, and progress tracking for both professors and students. The application made use of Flask for the backend, React Native for a smooth mobile experience, and Firebase Firestore for real-time data synchronisation. In order to bridge the gap between academic expectations and student productivity, this approach enables students while empowering lecturers to monitor and provide timely feedback on issues like deadline management, progress tracking, and team communication. The system helps students stay organised and meet academic requirements by tackling typical issues including assigning tasks, deadline management, and effective team communication. Usability testing showed over 90% of participants found the app easy to use, visually clear, and effective for managing tasks and collaboration, confirming its suitability for academic use.
