Abstract
Description
It is expected that the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) system can develop in the entire transportation system in Malaysia. The ART system is well-designed and innovated to mitigate the environmental impacts especially air pollution. Also, the ART system can be more beneficial to the users as it can bring convenience, less time commuting needed and cost-effective transport option. High application of advanced technologies in the ART system can also mitigate the risk of traffic accident that caused by human error. It can manage the traffic congestion to the controllable stage. Therefore, the study examines the determinants of ART system (perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived safety and perceived environmental benefits) which considered as the independent variable that influences the youth adoption which considered as the dependent variable. The data will be collected by distributing the questionnaire to the youth who are residing in Kota Samarahan via online survey. The study will use the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software to analyse the data. The research findings show that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived safety and perceived environmental benefits have significant effect on the youth adoption of ART system. Based on the research findings, this study outcomes recommend that the policymakers can enhance the youth adoption of ART system through the provision of financial incentives and the implementation of awareness campaign or educational program among the youth.
