Abstract

Description

This study was conducted to determine the relationship between work-life balance factors, which include (flexible work arrangements, work-family conflict, and social support) and job satisfaction among employees in the manufacturing industry. The study was guided by the Spillover Theory as its theoretical foundation. A quantitative approach was adopted using a cross-sectional survey design. Data were collected from 80 employees in the production department at Hikoki (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., located in Senai, Johor, through a simple random sampling technique. To examine the relationship between work-life balance factors and employee job satisfaction, Pearson Correlation Analysis was used, while Multiple Regression Analysis was conducted to identify the dominant that affects employees job satisfaction. The results indicate that both flexible work arrangement and social support have a significant strong positive relationship with job satisfaction, while work-family conflict shows a significant weak negative relationship. Furthermore, social support was identified as the dominant factor that affects employee job satisfaction. Therefore, the findings of this study suggest that organizations should foster a socially supportive work environment by implementing practical strategies that promote cooperation, effective communication, and positive workplace relationships. For future research, additional work-life balance factors may be explored as independent variables to gain deeper insights into their impact on job satisfaction.
