Abstract

Description

AIBeautician: An AI-Powered Mobile App for Personalized Cosmetic Ingredient Analysis and Recommendations is mobile application developed to address challenges faced by cosmetic user in understanding product formulations. Differentiating between silicone – based an water – based products remains a challenge for many consumers, often leading to uneven makeup application and dissatisfaction with product performance. Furthermore, concerns about the potential health risks associated with silicone – based ingredients have aroused extensive debate. While some studies claim that silicone may cause hypersensitivity reaction in particular individuals, other research indicates that it is generally safe for use in cosmetics. Despite these discussion, there is a considerable paucity of scientific evidence, particularly in Malaysia, to support or refute these claims conclusively. This knowledge gap contributes to consumer uncertainty, highlighting the importance for reliable and data – driven solutions to enhance informed decision – making in cosmetic product selection. This project also aimed to analyse and provide personalised recommendation tailored to individual preferences. By incorporating advanced text recognition technology, the application simplifies the process of identifying ingredient details directly from product label, thereby enhancing usability and accuracy. Utilising a structured Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology, this innovation fosters user informed decision making, promotes user satisfaction, and improves the entire experience while looking for cosmetic products.
