| dc.description | It is important to understand how to help these women to move forward and advance in their careers especially those who are juggling with multiple roles and balancing between personal and work lives. This study takes a closer at how support form spouses, both emotional and instrumental, influence career advancement among working women, specifically those who have been married. Conducted with 103 female staffs from the local authority in Bintulu, the research used online questionnaire to gather holistic view from these women. Grounded in the Work-Family Enrichment Theory, the findings reveal a compelling truth: emotional support from a spouse, such as encouragement, empathy and understanding, has a greater impact on a woman’s career growth than instrumental support. This highlights the powerful role that emotional connection and mutual respect play in empowering women professionally. The study offers valuable contributions to workplace policies, cultural understanding, and academic discussions around women's career development, especially within the Malaysian context. It also opens doors for future research and initiatives aimed at helping women balance their careers and family life more effectively. | |
