dc.descriptionThis study investigates the relationship between organizational safety factors and safety behavior among employees in a utility company in Malaysia. Understanding the factors that influence safety behavior is critical to ensuring a safe and productive work environment, particularly in high-risk industries such as utilities. A cross-sectional quantitative research design was employed using a self-administered survey questionnaire distributed to employees (N = 110) in a utility company. Spearman’s correlation was conducted to test the relationship between the five independent variables which are safety leadership, safety climate, safety training, safety communication and feedback, and safety promotion policies and safety behavior. Multiple regression analysis was then performed to determine the most influential factor affecting safety behavior. Results indicated that all five independent variables had a significant positive relationship with safety behavior. Among them, safety climate emerged as the dominant predictor. The findings underscore the importance of creating a strong safety climate and implementing effective organizational practices to promote safe behavior in utility workplaces. These insights can help safety managers and policy makers develop targeted strategies to enhance workplace safety performance.
