| dc.description | Knowledge, attitude and practice on rabies is considered a vital aspect in nursing that is needed to be considered to be included into the education syllabus. This is due to nurses are the frontliner or the first person who is responsible in educating the community on how to decrease the spreading of the virus along with the measures taken in preventing rabies. It is very important to include rabies topic as one of the nursing educations in helping the nursing students to enhance their level of knowledge, attitude and practice regarding rabies. Thus, a cross-sectional study was carried out in assessing the level of knowledge, attitude and practice on rabies among the UNIMAS undergraduate nursing students. 170 nursing students from Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences who has fulfilled the inclusion criteria, has been involved in the overall study. The participants were chosen through simple random sampling and all the data obtained was analysed by using a software called Statistical Package of Social Sciences (SPSS), version 27.0. Moreover, this study has shown that the UNIMAS undergraduate nursing students have both poor knowledge (M:7.25, SD: 2.48) and poor attitude (M: 6.70, SD: 1.381 ), as well as poor practice on rabies (M: 29.46, SD: 3.77). Furthermore, there were a weak positive correlation between level of knowledge and practice (rₛ= .216, n= 164, p= .004), along with level of knowledge and attitude (rₛ= .221,n= 164, p< .001). However, there was a moderate positive correlation between level of attitude and practice (rₛ= .347 , n= 164 , p< .006). In conclusion, this study has found that there is a relationship between level of knowledge, attitude and practice on rabies among UNIMAS undergraduate nursing students. | |
