Work-life family balance (WLFB) is a crucial factor influencing employee performance, particularly within the manufacturing sector, where rigid work schedules, long hours, and demanding job requirements often lead to work-life conflicts. This research explores the impact of WLFB on employee performance in the manufacturing sector in Kuching, Sarawak, emphasizing the moderating roles of supportive family and supervisor behaviors. Despite the growing recognition of WLFB as a key determinant of job satisfaction and productivity, limited research has explored its effects within the local manufacturing context. This study employs a quantitative, cross-sectional research design, utilizing stratified random sampling to collect data from 300 full-time employees across various manufacturing firms in Kuching. Data was gathered through structured questionnaires incorporating validated scales, ensuring reliability and validity. Descriptive analysis, multiple regression analysis, and moderation analysis were conducted using SPSS to examine the relationships between WLFB, employee performance, and the moderating variables. The findings indicate that employees with better WLFB exhibit higher job performance, lower stress levels, and increased job satisfaction. Moreover, supportive family behaviors significantly moderate the WLFB-performance relationship, while supportive supervisors enhance WLFB, leading to improved employee engagement and productivity. These results underscore the importance of implementing workplace policies that prioritize flexible work arrangements, family-friendly initiatives, and supportive managerial practices to foster a balanced and efficient workforce. The study provides valuable insights for HR professionals, policymakers, and business leaders, advocating for targeted interventions to enhance WLFB and optimize employee performance within the manufacturing industry in Kuching. Future research iv should explore longitudinal effects and sector-specific WLFB strategies to further strengthen these findings.
