Abstract

Description

Flexible work arrangements (FWA) have become increasingly prominent in today’s evolving work landscape, as organizations seek to support employee well-being while maintaining productivity. This study investigates the effects of flexible work arrangements on work-family conflict, work-family enrichment and organizational commitment which in turn lead to employee happiness. Data was collected through questionnaire on employees from utility sector (N=200) and were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The findings of this study revealed that flexible work arrangements were significantly associated with lower work-family conflict and higher organizational commitment, but showed no significant relationship with work-family enrichment. Additionally, work-family conflict was negatively correlated with happiness, while both work-family enrichment and organizational commitment were positively correlated with happiness. These results suggest that flexible work arrangements can contribute to employee happiness in the workplace, primarily by reducing conflict and enhancing commitment.
