| dc.description | The research aims to investigate the relationship between optimism, life satisfaction, and the meaning of life among undergraduate students at University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). The study investigates the correlation between optimism and life satisfaction, optimism and the meaning of life, and life satisfaction and the meaning of life. The Pearson correlation is used in this analysis to examine the relationship between three variables. This investigation also investigates the role of the meaning of life in mediating the relationship between optimism and the meaning of life through the use of multiple regression. A total of 340 undergraduate students from UNIMAS participated in this quantitative investigation. An online survey was used to gather research data. The descriptive and inferential statistics were derived by data analysis using the statistical software IBM SPSS Statistics 27. The study revealed that optimism exhibited a positive correlation with both life satisfaction and the sense of meaning in life. Moreover, the result finding show that meaning in life played a crucial role in connecting optimism and satisfaction with undergraduate students' lives. The results indicate that cultivating optimism in students can improve their overall well-being by nurturing both life satisfaction and a sense of purpose. Consequently, this can enable them to more effectively negotiate the intricacies of university life. | |
