| dc.description | The rise of e-commerce has led to a significant increase in package theft, posing serious challenges for consumers and undermining their shopping experience. This project presents the development of an AI-Powered Package Theft Detection System with Real-Time Monitoring and Alerts, designed to effectively combat the growing issue of package theft or porch piracy. By leveraging advanced artificial intelligence technologies which includes object detection, the system is capable of continuously monitoring package deliveries, identifying potential threats, and providing immediate alerts to homeowners when suspicious activities are detected. This proactive approach not only enhances the security of delivered packages but also empowers consumers to take timely action against theft. The significance of this project lies in its potential to restore consumer confidence in the safety of online shopping. By combining computer vision technology by integrating, it into traditional surveillance systems, it addresses the limitations of traditional surveillance systems, which often fail to provide real-time alerts or proactive security measures, this AI-powered solution offers a more effective means of preventing package theft or porch piracy. The findings found out that with the tests of 20 test videos, across 94 detection rates, resulted in a detection rate of over 80% of theft detection, in turn displays room for improvement but initially heading in the projected direction.. Ultimately, this project aims to contribute to a safer delivery environment, ensuring that package owners feel secure in their purchases and can maintain their engagement with online shopping platforms. | |
