Abstract

Description

The Smart OKU Parking Validation System Using Visual Detection and ID Verification aims to address the challenges faced by disabled individuals (OKU) in accessing OKU-designated parking spaces in Malaysia. The current manual enforcement system often leads to delays, inconvenience, and frequent misuse of these spaces by unauthorised vehicles. This project introduces an automated solution that combines visual detection of OKU stickers, Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for Identification Document (ID) verification, and real-time notifications to authorities in cases of unauthorised parking. The system integrates components such as an ultrasonic sensor for vehicle detection, a camera for image capturing, a cloud system to process OCR ID verification, and image recognition API to detect the blue sticker. This project tests the designed system on a miniature parking model to demonstrate the system’s functionality and includes a Telegram alert mechanism to notify enforcement of violations. By automating the verification process and providing real-time alerts, this project enhances the accessibility and management of OKU-reserved parking spaces. It ensures that these spaces remain available for legitimate users while deterring misuse, offering scalable and efficient solution for broader smart parking management applications.
