| dc.description | The provision of complete technology-based infrastructure such as the internal software and computers are considered essential for any organization. As a country that is heading towards an electronic government, the Malaysia government is very much committed to the development of technology in any organization, both governmental and private. The advantages of using communication technology are also explained in the Theory of Electronic Propinquity introduced by Korzenny in 1978. This theory states that there is a tendency in electronic form that people use the medium of technology when using technology in communication. A study on Electronic Approach was conducted at Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat Negeri Sarawak (JKMNS) using two (2) methodological methods used namely qualitative and quantitative methods. Quantitative methodology is used to answer the first objective; that is to study the existence of satisfaction from the aspect on information accessibility in the application of technology in JKM. Whereas qualitative methodology is used to answer second, third and fourth objectives: to study the factors of attraction to the existence of information availability in JKM; to study the factors that are contributing to the existence on information availability in JKM; and to study the level of efficiency in the use of communication technology among the staffs of JKM. The sample for Quantitative methodology was 232 while the qualitative informants were 20. The results of this study show that there is a significant relationship between the rejection factor and the acceptance of the use of communication technology by JKM staffs. However, elements such as strengthening the provision of ICT equipment, facilities need to be emphasized by JKM staffs, as they are seen as factors contributing to the attraction of JKM staffs to apply ICT vi in the workplace. On the other hand, the efficiency of ICT use among JKM staffs is still at a moderate level. Therefore, training and encouragement from top management, especially management is essential to ensure ICT mastery among JKM staffs at optimum level. | |
