eVandalism: A Smart Mobile Reporting Application

| dc.description | Vandalism activity has been a persistent challenge in educational institutions, posing issues to maintaining a safe and conductive learning environment. These issues often happen because the vandal would choose area that is less populated or the blind spot of the security camera to conduct vandalism. Therefore, this project introduces a mobile application, eVandalism: A Smart Mobile Reporting Application is designed to facilitate anonymous reporting of vandalism incidents within educational institution compound. The application enables students to report vandalism while keeping their identity anonymous to protect them from potential retaliation. The application also utilise email notification system that forwards report directly to the person-in-charge to ensure the person-in-charge can take appropriate action. By utilising the eVandalism application, both UNIMAS students and the person-in-charge can work closely to capture the culprit of the vandalism and decrease the chances of vandalism incident from occurring in the future. Other than catching the culprit of the vandalism, the person-in-charge also get to know where and which facilities were being damaged and can take appropriate action like informing the maintenance team about the damaged facilities so that the maintenance team can repair or replace the damaged facilities base on the degree of the damage on the facilities. Therefore, by streamlining the reporting procedures and enabling real-time email notifications, the eVandalism application has the potential to reduce vandalism incidents, foster better communication between UNIMAS students and UNIMAS staff and contribute to a safer educational environment. | |
