This study applies the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) to examine perceptions, knowledge, and opinions influencing the acceptance of renewable energy in Kota Samarahan, Sarawak. It specifically investigates how environmental concern, subjective norms, perceived behavioural control, and behavioural intention collectively impact the adoption of renewable energy. A quantitative survey employing random sampling was conducted among students from higher education institutions in Kuching and Kota Samarahan. Data were collected through both online and printed questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS, incorporating descriptive statistics, regression analysis, correlation analysis, and reliability testing. Results indicate that perceived behavioural control and environmental concern significantly affect the intention to adopt renewable energy, while subjective norms moderate the relationship between attitudes and intentions. These findings offer valuable insights for policymakers and stakeholders aiming to enhance renewable energy adoption in Sarawak.
