| dc.description | The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of corporate investment and dividend policy on firm performance. For this purpose, a sample of top 100 companies listed in the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Top 100 Index are selected and examined for a period of 14 years from 2010 to 2023. Firm performance is the dependent variable of this study which is measured by return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE). Besides, the independent variable of this study is corporate investment which is measured by capital expenditure (Capex). Furthermore, moderator variable in this study is dividend policy which is measured by dividend payout ratio (DPR) and dividend yield (DY). This study employed panel data regression using a random effect model and conducted using STATA software. The findings indicate that corporate investment, measured by capital expenditure, has a significant positive relationship with firm performance. Besides, dividend payout ratio has a negative and significant impact on firm performance, meanwhile dividend yield has a positive but insignificant relationship with firm performance. In addition, this study found that dividend policy negatively moderates the positive relationship between corporate investment and firm performance. Hence, this study contributes to the understanding of how investment and dividend decisions influence firm performance and provides a basis for future research and strategic financial planning for business practices. | |
