dc.descriptionThe unique and rich culinary traditions of the Iban community in Sarawak, Malaysia, are increasingly at risk of being forgotten due to the influence of modernization on younger generations. This project aims to preserve and promote Iban cuisine through the development of a mobile application powered by Augmented Reality (AR) technology. The application offers an engaging interactive experience, featuring 3D models of traditional dishes such as Pansuh Ikan Sultan, Sup Salai Terung Asam, and Buah Dabai. Additionally, it provides step by-step video tutorials, cultural insights about Iban food, and pronunciation guides for dish names in the Iban language. Users will have the opportunity to simulate the process of cooking Iban dishes through AR activities designed to enhance their understanding and appreciation of Iban culinary traditions. By combining cultural knowledge with modern technology, this project contributes to the preservation of intangible cultural heritage while making it accessible and appealing to a tech-savvy generation. Ultimately, this AR application serves as both an educational tool and a means of cultural preservation, ensuring the continuity of Iban culinary traditions for future generations.
