This study investigates the impact of Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Perceived Security and Privacy (PSP) on the adoption of digital banking among students at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). With the rapid growth of financial technology (FinTech) and the increasing reliance on digital platforms, understanding the behavioral intentions and actual usage (AU) of digital banking among university students has become crucial. Guided by the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), this research examines the relationships between PU, PSP, Behavioral Intention (BI), and AU. Using a quantitative approach, primary data was collected through a structured questionnaire and analysed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that PU and PSP significantly influence students’ BI to adopt digital banking, and BI, in turn, strongly predicts AU. Moreover, the study highlights the importance of trust and data security in shaping students’ willingness to use digital financial services. These insights provide valuable implications for banks, digital banking service providers, and policymakers aiming to improve digital banking adoption strategies among youth. The study contributes to the academic literature by extending TAM with the integration of security and privacy perceptions, offering a comprehensive view of technology adoption behaviour in a university context.
