| dc.description | This study aimed at identifying the relationship between metacognitive awareness and procrastination on academic achievement among undergraduate psychology students at UNIMAS. In recent years, much metacognitive and procrastination research has been done within the field. However, there is a need for more metacognition studies to be done in non-Western countries and further studies on procrastination due to its mixed results among researchers. This study employs correlational quantitative research using two instruments: the Metacognitive Awareness Inventory by Harrison and Vallin (2018) and the Procrastination Assessment Scale-Students, developed by Rothblum and Solomon (1984). A total of 150 samples were successfully collected and analysed using the Spearman rank correlation coefficient. The results found that the relationship between metacognitive awareness, procrastination, and academic achievement was not significant. This study implies a need for culturally adaptable instruments and a push for personalised intervention programs. Future studies should consider mixed-method research, experimental research design, and employs a larger sampling size for generalizability. | |
