| dc.description | This study explores the psychological well-being of unwed professional Malay women and examines the psychosocial and cultural issues affecting their lives. Eight professional Malay women from Kuching and Samarahan, Sarawak, were recruited for semi-structured interviews. The data were analysed using thematic analysis, identifying key themes related to societal expectations, cultural stigmas, and personal challenges. The findings reveal significant stressors, including the fear of stigma and rejection, difficulty finding partners due to cultural perceptions of late marriage, and balancing professional commitments. Ethical considerations, such as informed consent and confidentiality, were rigorously upheld. This research provides insights into the unique struggles faced by this demographic, contributing to a deeper understanding of their psychological and social well-being. | |
