| dc.description | This study investigates the relationship between remote working arrangements and employees' quality of life (QoL), with a particular emphasis on mental health, physical health, and religiosity. Based on the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) Theory, the study investigates how two fundamental job resources—workplace amenities and job autonomy—influence these characteristics of well-being. A quantitative, cross-sectional survey approach was used, with data obtained from 77 remote-working employees at an educational institution in Kuching, Sarawak. Spearman's rho correlation study found substantial positive connections between workplace facilities and job autonomy across all three QoL categories. Job autonomy exhibited the largest relationships, notably with mental well-being and religion, indicating the importance of flexibility and control in remote work settings. The findings contribute to the expanding body of literature on remote work by recognising spiritual well-being as a relevant component of QoL and emphasising the relevance of inclusive, ergonomic, and autonomy-supportive remote work environments. HR managers and organisations will find practical implications for promoting holistic well-being among remote personnel. | |
