Abstract
Description
The purpose of the study is to determine the relationship between work environment and training transfer. The study used a quantitative approach to determine how training transfer and work environment elements which are supervisor support, peer support, opportunity to perform and feedback relate to one another. In this research, it was conducted at selected automotive companies at Kuching and Miri, Sarawak which required their employees such as car technicians to attend training programs. The target population of this study is 150 employees, but according to Kriejic and Morgan, only 108 respondents are needed for sample size. In all, 108 respondents participated in this study. However, 33 respondents were used to do pilot tests for validity and reliability. The 5 points Likert-scale questionnaires were distributed to the respondents. The research used Pearson Correlation to determine the relationship between independent variables and dependent variables. Multiple Regression analysis has been used to identify the most dominant factor. The findings showed that all sub-independent variables including supervisor support, peer support, opportunity to perform and feedback are significant to employee training transfer. The most dominant factor was identified which is feedback. Lastly, the study concluded with limitations and recommendations for further research and organization.
