Introduction: Single Session Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (SSACT) is gaining attention as a brief yet potentially effective intervention for addressing various mental health concerns. Given its growing application, it is essential to evaluate the existing literature to assess its efficacy, methodological rigor, and applicability across diverse populations. The current study aimed to examine the recent literature on SS-ACT in terms of sample characteristics, study location, targeted outcome measures, study design, and quantifiable efficacy using a narrative summary method. Methods: The PICO framework was employed to formulate the research question, and the PRISMA flow chart guided the systematic screening of relevant studies. Approximately ten studies were included in the current study. The Mixed Methods Appraisal Quality Assessment Tool was utilized to evaluate the included studies. Results: SS-ACT has shown encouraging results in different populations and contexts, yet the heterogeneity in study designs, participant characteristics, and assessment tools limits the certainty of its overall effectiveness. Discussion: The present study highlights the potential of SS-ACT as a brief intervention, but the variability in study protocols underscores the need for standardized methods. Future research should focus on creating consistent intervention guidelines and outcome measures to allow robust comparisons. Conclusion: Overall, this review advocates for the continued exploration of SS-ACT’s applicability to maximize its benefits across various populations and settings.
