Abstract
Description
Sleep disorders represent a significant public health concern due to their impact on overall health, cognitive function, and emotional well-being. This study aims to provide a comprehensive psychological evaluation of sleep disorders, exploring the differences of sleep patterns among different demographics and identify the impact of sleep behaviors on academic performance among UNIMAS students. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, this study incorporates quantitative data from a researchers tailored questionnaire (Need Assessment). The sample consists of 175 undergraduate students of UNIMAS. The findings of this study suggest a critical need for personalized sleep management tools tailored to individual needs and demographic characteristics. These tools should address both intrinsic factors, such as genetic predispositions and psychological states, and extrinsic factors, including lifestyle habits, environmental conditions, and academic pressures. While sleep behaviors did not directly correlate with academic performance, addressing sleep disorders through targeted interventions remains essential for improving students' overall well-being and quality of life. These results underscore the importance of integrated therapeutic strategies that incorporate psychological counseling, behavioral modifications, and environmental adjustments to enhance sleep quality and support student success.
