Abstract

Description

In the modern-day sedentary work environment, physical inactivity and prolonged sedentary behaviour have become critical concerns that affect the mental health of employees, especially in the educational industry. Many administrative staff suffer from increased stress, emotional exhaustion, and mental fatigue due to limited opportunities for physical activity and extended periods of sitting. This paper discusses the relationship between workplace physical activity, sedentary behaviour, and employees' mental health in the context of the educational sector. It applies established theories to explore the promotion of active work environments, and the reduction of sedentary habits as means of alleviating mental health challenges. The study offers practical recommendations on how educational organizations can focus on the well-being of employees, create a healthier work culture, and improve productivity and morale for better outcomes for both employees and institutions.
