| dc.description | This research investigates how transformational leadership impact employee engagement in the retail sector by focusing on three domain variables, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation and individualized consideration. Previous research has shown a strong correlation between transformational leadership and employee engagement, but limited attention has been given particularly in the retail sector and non-European context. This study addresses the gap by testing the three variables with employee engagement by relating it solely to the theory developed by Bass which is Transformative Leadership in which it contains close relations with the study. A quantitative approach was adopted by using structured questionnaires to collect the data. The questionnaire distributed using cross sectional survey focusing on retail employees through different companies in Mukah, Sarawak. Data were analyzed using SPSS with a total of 126 valid respondents. The significance of the value of the relationship between transformational leadership and employee engagement were examined using Spearman’s Rank Correlation according to the result of normality test. The findings have revealed a significant positive relationship across all three variables. This study has contributed to a wide range of aspect such as HRD Manager, organization and leadership literature by providing practical implications and relevant recommendations. | |
