Abstract
Description
This study investigates the influence of transformational leadership styles on job satisfaction among public sector employees in Sarawak, Malaysia. As public organisations continue to adapt to post-pandemic challenges and align with national goals such as the Sarawak Post- COVID Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, effective leadership has become increasingly important. The study focuses on four key components of transformational leadership which are individualised consideration, idealised influence, inspirational motivation and intellectual stimulation. A total of 193 respondents participated in a quantitative survey using a structured questionnaire. Statistical analysis using Pearson correlation and multiple regression revealed that all four leadership dimensions have a strong and significant positive relationship with job satisfaction. As a result, individualised consideration emerged as the most dominant predictor, followed closely by inspirational motivation. These findings suggest that when leaders provide personal support, act as role models and inspire their employees can greatly enhance job satisfaction and workplace morale. This research contributes to the growing body of literature on leadership in the Malaysian public sector and provides practical insights for human resource strategies aimed at fostering a more engaged and satisfied workforce.
