| dc.description | This study investigates how strategic risk management (SRM) enhances dynamic capabilities and organizational performance among technology startups in Sarawak, Malaysia. Despite the region’s digital development efforts, startups face persistent challenges such as skill shortages, market fragmentation, and financial uncertainty, limiting their ability to adapt and grow. While literature recognizes the importance of dynamic capabilities like sensing, seizing, and transforming, there is a gap in understanding how SRM supports these capabilities in emerging ecosystems like Sarawak. The study aims to bridge this gap by examining how SRM practices can improve adaptability and performance. Adopting a qualitative approach, data was collected through semi-structured interviews with top management of Kuching-based startups using snowball sampling. Thematic analysis revealed that structured risk management helps firms anticipate challenges, make agile decisions, and enhance resilience. The study contributes theoretically by linking SRM with dynamic capability development and practically by offering insights for entrepreneurs and policymakers to strengthen the regional startup ecosystem. Future research may explore quantitative validation or cross-regional comparisons within Malaysia or ASEAN. | |
