Abstract

Description

The Swiftlet Bird's Nest Harvesting Management Tracking System was developed to address operational challenges faced by swiftlet farmers, such as inefficient manual data tracking, lack of structured task planning, and the absence of digital reporting tools. This web-based system aims to streamline and centralize the farm management process through a user-friendly interface. Built using the Agile Scrum methodology, development was conducted in iterative sprints, with continuous refinement based on real stakeholder feedback. Key features include logging nest data, managing expenses, scheduling cleaning or harvesting tasks, and generating downloadable reports. Stakeholder requirements were gathered via interviews and walkthroughs, and the system was developed using tools like Visual Studio Code, XAMPP, and MySQL. Acceptance testing was conducted with a swiftlet birdhouse owner who participated in the early design phases; the stakeholder accepted all major system functions and described the system as easy to use, well-structured, and tailored to the needs of swiftlet farming. Based on their feedback, the system achieved a 100% acceptance rate for core features. The system offers real-time data entry, secure database management, and customizable report generation, contributing to more efficient, traceable, and scalable swiftlet farming operations.
