Abstract
This study investigates how communication practices shape family dynamics, emotional well-being, and relational cohesion in urban Malaysian families. Using Family Systems Theory and Family Communication
Patterns Theory, the research analyzes the interplay between traditional cultural values and modern influences like digital communication. Findings suggest that while digital tools like WhatsApp enhance logistical
connectivity, face-to-face interaction remains the primary driver of emotional security.
