Abstract
Description
This research aimed to study the relationship between dimensions of Job Burnout (Exhaustion, Mental Distance, Cognitive Impairment and Mental Impairment) and Quiet Quitting. This research used a quantitative method where the data were collected by using the questionnaire adapted by Schaufeli et al. (2020) for the dimensions of burnout, while the quiet quitting’s questionnaire was adopted by Talukder and Prieto (2024). The questionnaires were distributed using Google Forms and received responses from 74 employees at a district council. The data were then analysed by implementing both descriptive and inferential statistics, specifically Spearman’s correlation analysis. The findings have shown that exhaustion and cognitive impairment had a positive significant relationship with quiet quitting, while mental distance and emotional impairment does not have any correlation with quiet quitting. This supported the use of the Conservation of Resources (COR) Theory in determining the relationship of the variables used. Which suggest that individuals quiet quitting to preserve the remaining personal resources when depleted. Finally, future research is encouraged to explore more on other sector like private sector to include more large and diverse sample size, and to identify the types of leadership styles to prevent quiet quitting.
